Reminder: Join the Long Journey Founder Slack here

Once you're in, three quick things to get started:

  1. Introduce yourself in #welcome-to-the-flock to build a searchable, personal founder directory (intro template pinned in channel)
  2. Post your first ask or offer in #asks-and-offers (ex: share your favorite vendor) and check out the Long Journey Team Offerings and Founder Resources tabs there
  3. Check out #announcements to RSVP to September experiences, workshops and dinners. We have new monthly office hours with Bijan and two mastermind dinners coming up at the Long Journey house in SF!

Here's how to make the most of this space:

  • Ask for help: from complex problems to a warm intro, this is the place to get peer advice. Founders told us again and again they'd show up to offer help, so please, ask.
  • Offer what you know: advice, network, feedback. Generosity and giving back is the whole point.
  • Bring the community together: reconnect with founders you've met, post open invites to events you're hosting, organize meetups, and facilitate spin-off gatherings.

  • James (Shielded) is the founder and CEO of Shielded, a supply chain risk intelligence platform. It maps tariffs, market shifts and disruptions onto a company’s own suppliers, products and margins, so manufacturers can decide how to source, price, stock and hedge before the hit lands. Before Shielded, James worked in commodities trading, where the edge came from reacting faster than competitors when markets moved. That experience is what he’s now building for every manufacturer.
  • Seb (London Quantum Group) is the co-founder and CEO of London Quantum Group, a London research lab building the Blind Data Platform. The platform lets hospitals and researchers run computation and train AI models on encrypted health records without ever exposing the underlying data, starting with clinical trial matching inside the NHS. While still finishing his studies, Seb has won the Quantinuum Year of Quantum Hackathon, the Slaughter and May Innovation Competition and an NHS Hackathon. He was also named a Bridgewater Top 100 Research Fellow, and he worked on the first three-variable satellite optimization problem run on a quantum computer.

Before that he was SVP of Product at Groupon and founded the city-discovery startup Pelago. He also spent nearly a decade at Amazon, where he led consumer websites worldwide and the development of Amazon Prime.
